2025-2026 Academic Break/Winter Recess

Schedule & Holidays

In accordance with the Kansas Board of Regents academic calendar and State of Kansas holidays, the University annually establishes a schedule for the academic break, Winter Recess, and holidays as outlined below.

Fall semester final examinations conclude on Friday, Dec. 12, and spring semester classes begin on Tuesday, January 20.

Academic Calendar:

  • Last day of classes – Dec. 4
  • Finals Week – Dec. 8 to Dec. 12

Academic Break Dates:

  • Dec. 13 through Jan. 19.

Winter Recess - Campus Closed:

  • Dec. 25 - Jan. 1

State of Kansas Designated Holidays:

  • Christmas — Dec. 25
  • New Year's Day — Jan. 1
  • Martin Luther King Day — Jan. 19

Discretionary holiday for eligible employees:

  • The 2025 discretionary holiday may be used through Dec. 20, 2025.
